Washington DC Day One

Tami and Kurt were incredibly gracious to let me come a visit.  They are the best!  It was the very best and I fulfilled one of my bucket list goals.  Between the two of us, Tami and I took over 800 pictures of my trip!  It is impossible to pick the pictures for the blog, but here goes....I flew in Saturday.  The flight itself was an adventure.  On the first flight I ran into Jennifer F, who I worked with way back at FedEx.  She is a manager there and the call center is virtual...very cool.  It was great to see her and catch up.  On the 2nd leg of the trip I sat next to a very successful woman and through her conversation, I realized that we all cycle through the same experiences in life.  The details are different, but the themes all seem to be the same.  Somehow that gave me comfort. When I left Denver, I told Tami I was on time, so they were at the airport on time.  Unfortuntely, we ended up sitting on the tarmack, unable to use our phones for 1 1/2 hours in Denver because of snow.  Kurt was jetlagged, having just flown in from Hawaii earlier that day.  He was a trooper.  Dinner and bed.

Day One - Sunday, December4th -  Church, which is always fun.  Then off to Arlington and Iwo Jima and the DC temple for the festival of lights.
