He didn't want anything except money...ha ha.....so we went for Japanese food and then called his friends to meet us at Baskin Robbins for the $1 scoop night. Unlimited scoops. It seems like the perfect quirky thing to do for Barrett.
Trying to decide what to eat. Seth playing with the chopsticks.
Opening presents....Grandma Kay obliged by actually giving him cash. Seth on the phone with....Hannah?
Dad's gift...wrapped in a Placerville News Company bag....we go all out at the Hamp household :)
Barrett received an antique book by Rudyard Kipling. They (Owen and Barrett) thought it was cool.
Seth gave Barrett a symbolic gift...bag of dirt with a bandage, and other trinkets that have significance and meaning to them. I missed most of the explanation. Ask them. (Side note: Barrett gave Melissa a bucket of dirt for her birthday one year)
At BR eating ice cream and other's brought gifts...given they had six hours notice and no expectation to bring something, it was very sweet. Although they were joke gifts though the actual joke was lost on me. Here is a wolf shirt from Lauren.
An action hero shirt from April. I got this one....he is a nerd and yes he does know all of the names of the characters. I mean nerd in the most endearing sense of the word. Spencer gave him a 4 X 4 Rubics Cube. That was cool...not a joke. He almost has it figured out. It wasn't until I had kids that grew up and could do a Rubics that I even realized there was a pattern to it...I was such a dumb kid.
