Moscow - Day Six - Tuesday

Today was a touristy day.  Since we had a late night we took the morning quite slow.  While we were getting ready Greg and Bear skyped with Amy and Ana.  I love skyping and they shared a lot of fun experiences back and forth.

Then we were off to Moscow City which is the new financial center with a contemporary mall.  On the top floor of the mall are giant Matryoshkas.  The floor was closed but from a distance they are still quite impressive.  While at the mall, we ate at the food court: turkish style sandwiches; a baked potato with pickles and mushrooms; and a selection of dessert blinis with banana and chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, honey, and strawberry jam.

After Moscow City we went to Old Arbat Street which is a touristy street in Moscow with street vendors and cute shops.

Then we were off to the church service center and we met K, who took us to his house to meet his wife, K, and his little boy, I.  K met us there and we had a wonderful dinner and played a favorite game.  This was such a fun night.  K and K speak English quite well so Bear did not have to translate everything and we were able to talk about So. Cal, from where K had just returned.  It was interesting and fun to hear about my hometown from his perspective. The baby was adorable and I really enjoyed holding him.

After we left, K took us on the scenic route to the Metro to see the really lovely neighborhood we were in.  Then he joined us on the Metro to our stop.  We got off to see a particularly beautiful Metro stop.  He got off with us at our stop and showed us around the Kremlin.  As it got dark (about 10:30 pm) it was really beautiful.
