Barrett's email - September 28th

Mom, I really love getting emails. What a blessing it is to me to hear from home. Thank you so much.
I still have not yet received the package. Elder C told me to just forget about it, so that in a year when it randomly shows up it will be a happy surprise. haha. The pictures of Christ, etc. sounds like a great idea.
I don't really know what to talk about? This week has been great. We have an investigator that is moving to Finland. She is incredible and she loves the Book of Mormon. She always has it with her and she reads it everywhere. When we asked her if she would be baptized she said she can't because she's moving to Finland. We told her that the church is there, and there a missionaries there, and when she gets there, she can tell them that she wants to be baptized on the 29 of October, and they'll take care of it. What a day that will be for those missionaries! Haha. Incredible.
I am looking forward to Conference. We will get it a week after you, so don't give anything away. haha. This month's Liahona is amazing!! Holy cow! Everyone should be reading that thing. It's incredible.
Our entire mission has begun reading the Book of Mormon together. I guess President Sorensen does this every once in a while. Everyone was given a new Book of Mormon and two colored pencils. And while we read we are focusing on 1)increasing my faith in Christ and 2)becoming a better missionary. We only mark things that relate to those two things. It is really good. We started on Sunday, and if we read about 6 pages a day, we'll finish on Christmas Eve. I highly recommend this form of study. Get a cheap paperback copy and pick just two things to focus on, two questions, or two concepts
