Holy Cow! What a week! Yes, it is definitely getting colder here. A few emails ago you asked what we do now that we can't chalk draw: we sing! Yeah, it's a lot of fun. 3 or 4 of us stand on the side of the street, or outside a metro entrance, and sing hymns while the rest go around and talk to people. It is way fun. But it is way cold.
Seth's district leader, Brandon's gonna train, Sharon's son is going to Helsinki, and Jacob is back? Holy cow! Yesterday marked the 7 month anneversary of the last time I spoke to you in person. Oh, and it was the first Stake Conference in Russia! Oh, my goodness, it was amazing! Elder L. Whitney Something (Clayton), Sister Second Counsellor (Barbara Thompson) in the General Relief Society, Elder Dallin H. Oaks, and President Deiter F. Uchtdorf spoke. It was incredible.
It's supposed to snow on wednesday? What! How come no one has told me this? I have no way of getting the weather. Is it possible to cut and paste the week's daily highs and lows into the email? And maybe whether or not the weather will be good or not. I am a little curious sometimes what the temperature is as I'm walking somewhere and it feels like my nose might break off.
Is it also possible to get that book of mormon insert that I think President Weston's dad made about the points of the true church, or something? Maybe in a Dear Elder (which is still free, by the way. Hint hint, nudge nudge).
Did you see the pictures yet? What are the chances, this past week I got to wear a helping hands vest too. If you'd believe it, I sent the picture email first, so I already picked it and sent it before I read about the ushering. We picked up trash aroud a lake in a town about 20 minutes by train north of Moscow. It was fun. Elder R and I helped move an island. I'll tell you the story sometime (How's that for a 17 month cliffhanger).
For p-day today, we all went to Red Square to see a parade. It ended up being closed off to the public so we didn't see much. But we decided to try walking around to find a better angle, and I'm not sure how it happened, but we ended up right behind Red Square a little after the parade had ended, and some how we made it into the area where all the buses and stuff for all the groups were parked. So we were walking around with all these people in costumes, and then they started driving out the tanks, so we took a bunch of pictures. I'm not sure why I sent the one with my eye's closed, but it was too late to change it. So, yeah, somehow, it was just us, no other tourists, and we got this private tank parade, and took a bunch of pictures. I'll show you the pictures sometime too (hehe).
The work is going well, here in Moscow. Our main focus right now is helping the ward update all their records and find all the inactives. It is an adventure every day. "Member Quests" we call them. Transfers were this past week. Elder Roberts and I are still together. I'm glad. We are both learning so much.
I'll try to send the Christmas package soon, and your Birthday card. I hope it will make it on time.
Have a great week. I love you. The Gospel is true
Love
