Merle's passing was a wake up call that time is short and we cannot take our family for granted. We really did. Merle was the glue that kept us all connected. We counted on her to let us know what everyone else in the family was doing. We all just thought that we would get around to getting together. Well, we didn't and now she is gone. It is as much to honor her memory as well as trying to now live without further regrets that we have decided to make a concerted effort to get together about once a quarter. Not to mention, we really have a great time when we are together. So here we are at the first Hamp family Thanksgiving. Because of Bob and Cindy's tree farm, we are shooting for the weekend before Thanksgiving. Cindy had to make an unexpected trip to WY and then Shannon had a cold so Jean had to cancel, but it was a great start. We had a wonderful time with the cousins. We missed all of the family that was too far away to come. We will keep working at it.
