Greg was planning on being out of town (he didn't go out but spent the time with Marela's family) and Owen was going to work so we decided that the Hamp Family Thanksgiving, with Grandma joining us, would be our Thanksgiving. Well, Owen went to the dentist Monday and was on pain meds. He has to be med free for 24 hours before starting his shift so instead on Wednesday, I took him back to work on Thursday. With preparation and the round trip, taking him to work takes about the whole day. It is fun, I hang around while he gets his truck ready to go and then this time I followed him back to Sacramento and met him at a truck stop and then at another stop before I took off toward Placerville and he went on to Woodland for his first pick up. It is always fun to meet him on the road.
I wanted to see Carrie's boys while they were in town and when I asked if I could come by, it turned out they were eating after I was getting back home so she invited me to join in with their Thanksgiving. It was great for a lot of reasons: she is my friend and I really enjoy spending time with her; got to see Michael and Brandon which is always a treat; got to see her sister and her famiy; and I realized that even though we had our Thanksgiving, it is just not the same when it is not on Thanksgiving Day. Don't know what that will mean for the Hamp Thanksgiving, but we will deal with that next year :)
