The view from the apartment Okay, This email got to me. He sounds fine but it made my heart sink.
What a week. I don't know where to begin. Elder R is incredible! Oh, we had such a good week! The meeting that didn't work out for that night, but I think that was because he and I need to get organized. We dived right and planned the week. Then the next day we had district meeting and a chalk draw. Elder R loved it. Holy cow! He was talking to everybody! Then the next day we met with Бабушка Алла in a park and got arrested. Well, driven in the back of a police car to the station. What an adventure. I'll tell you the story some time. Don't worry, everything is fine. Haha. Moscow Russia! The next day (sunday) we had church and introduced Elder R to everybody that I know, which at this point is basically just the bishopric. We've gotta to get to know more of these people!!Then on monday we got a visit from Elder and Sister P, one of the senior couples. Turns out they are on their second senior mission. Their first was in Ekaterinburg. When I told them I was from Placerville, they said they know Placerville. I asked how. Well, they knew the elder from Diamond Springs who got back a while back from his mission in Russia. What are the chances!
Yesterday Elder R and I continued going through the area book. We're like old prospectors digging away through a gold mine. It is very cool. I wish I could tell you all about it, but I'm running out of time.
I hope the pictures made it. I'm gonna try each week to send one more than the last week and see how many we can get before it won't let it through. It is so good to hear all the news from home. Thank you so much. And thank you for the Dear Elders. It takes two weeks to get them, so I'm not sure how to respond to them, so I haven't. But I have received them and I love reading them. Thank you so much to all who have written. I wish I had more time to write to you all. I haven't gotten the package yet, but I'm not worried. Well, gotta go. If it stops raining, we're gonna go to the zoo. And tonight we have English club.

ReplyDeleteI know. It was just the part about the police. He said the last time when he got stopped that the elder who helped him through that, only had two weeks left on his mission and he had never had that happen. Now Barrett has been there two months and it happened twice and much more this time then the first time. But, yes he sounds great and looks great!
