Okay, so about skype, that should work perfect. Sister C, of our senior couple, offered to call our parents to make
sure everything works before christmas, so that's another option. I think the
time is perfect. We will be sleeping over at the Cs, so it doesn't matter how
late it is. 9:00am your time is 9:00pm my time? or 8:00pm? I'm sure we will
email on monday christmas eve, so we still have a couple emails to make sure
everything will work. Elder M sent me an email and in my reply I told him
about the skype idea. He responded and said to just tell him the time and he'll
do it. I'll respond by telling hime 9:00am california time (whatever that is
honduras time, 11:00am?) and that he should be getting an email from home about
it.
Concerning coming home: I love President, too. He called me and he told me
that the transfer dates were in fact changing and the at they will be on April 4
or May 16. He told me I could think about it over night and call him back in the
morning. So I thought about it and prayed about it and I felt like I wanted to
keep it on May 2. The next morning I still felt like May 2, but it didn't matter
because President called and told me that he spoke with the mission department
and they told him that my group can't stay until the 16th because it is too far
past our 2 year mark, so my whole group is going to go home on May 2. So that
means there won't be transfer meeting, but we will go to President's for our
farewell dinner. And president said that he would email you right away. ... And I assure you the May 9th is definitely going to
be cool, but it was not one of the deciding factors:)
S has his permit!?! Permit for what? A permit to kill? I
didn't realize you had to get a permit before you could get the license.
Sister L is going to love Finland. I had a companion who spent a few
days there and he said it is the most beautiful place on earth and all the
people sound like they're speak "elf-language" (that's a quote from him).
Sister M is coming home!? No way! I saw her in the MTC. I watched the
danish news thing. I was able to tell 2 things: she's an awesome missionary and
Danish is a crazy language.
We had Stake Conference yesterday. It was great. The talks were all
awesome. The Kiev Temple president was there. One man spoke on traditions. He
said that as pioneers of the restored church we (as in the Russian saints) have
the responsibility and the privilege of establishing righteous traditions. The
temple president talked about faith, hope, and charity, and how we have to have
the faith that God will do what He says He'll do, then we need to have the hope,
or assurance, that what He says applies to you, and once you've established
those and you are no longer in center stage, you can turn to others in charity
and share what you know about faith and hope.
Okay, well, gotta go. Thanks for everything. I'm looking forward to the
12th day of Christmas. I love you
Love
Elder Hamp
