Holy cow! There are just too many things I want to respond to all at once. ...
So it sounds good. Tomorrow we will have district meeting at our senior
couple's house and Sister C offered to call our parents to make sure the
connection can be made, so I plan to give her your cell phone number and the
skype account you set up (thank you by the way), and I will tell her that you
are 12 hours away, so you should be getting a call or a skype sometime in the
next couple days. I am way stinking excited for this.
Congratulations to A and A. They grow up so fast. I bearly
recognize them... so it's good the ward did...
This week was great. We had our branch christmas party. It was so much fun.
There was singing, there was dancing, there was recitation of poetry. It was
fantastic. Dyed Moroz (the Russian version of Santa Claus) came by. He had
presents for the little kids. Image Santa, but instead of jolly, a bit more
gruff and sarcastic. It was hilarious. The branch president and his family did a
little skit, and his wife forgot all of her lines. Later she said that the day
before she had been getting after everyone because she was the only one who had
practiced and memorized all week, and then in the performance, everyone did fine
and she forgot everything. She couldn't understand. She figured her husband must
have been praying that the show would be funny. haha.
Next week is our Stake christmas show and the missionaries are singing in
it, so we had choir practice up in moscow last night. We took a break to go
watch the translation of the 1st presidency christmas devotional. It was great.
I especially liked President Uchtdorf's. Well, I liked all of them. His was
definitely in the top 3.
It's getting pretty darn cold down here in Podolsk. The wind is blowing and
even when it's not snowing there are little ice crystals glittering in the air.
The ground is covered in ice in every direction. I have opened the first 5 days
of christmas and I feel the cavities forming:) Thank you so much. Every night
when the district calls in I tell them what the next day's scripture reference
is, so every one gets a chance to guess before it's opened, and then I open it
in the morning. My companion so far is a better guesser than I am. Haha.
Did you do anything exciting for the 12th day of the 12 month in the year
2012? Last year on 11-11-11 my companion and I slammed 11 kontiki (it will all
make sense when you come to russia). This year for 12-12-12, we were tracting.
It was a good day. And by next email we will have lived through the end of the
world. Only 4 more days. See you on the other side. I can't wait for christmas!
