Our little Podolsk branch is doing well. there's been an emphasis on forgiveness and loving
your neighbor. I gave a talk on that very subject yesterday, of course
with a missionary spin (loving members, non-members, and inactives).
On Saturday we had our Stake Christmas Concert. It went really well. It
really came together right at the end. Last year's concert was so good that this
year a string ensemble volunteered to accompany this year. It was awesome. The
church doesn't own a big hall yet, so we have to rent a hall for things like
this and stake conferences. This year the hall was on the back side of a big
hotel. It was shaped like an amphitheater and there wasn't too much room on the
stage, so for the song we (the elders) sang, we had to stand half on one side of
audience along the wall, on the other half on the other side. It was
interesting. I love big stake events. It's like a big family reunion.
At the time I am writing this, you have already skyped sister c,
everything is in order, and the only thing left to do is wait. I am out of my
mind excited. Tonight, Christmas eve, we (my companion and I) are going to the
G's house for dinner. Other than home, I can't imagine a place I would
rather spend christmas eve than at their house. She invited us yesterday and
told us, half jokingly, that she is making a fresh batch of kholodets (meat
jello). It's gonna be great. Then on christmas (ie TOMORROW!!!) we will go to
the Cs for District meeting, then go caroling as a district outside a metro
stop, and then we will skype. That is literally as far as I have planned my
life, it is like a wall in the week that my brain can't get past. Our weekly
planning made it to tuesday.
Okay, well, I'm not sure what else to talk about, so, I guess we'll see you
tomorrow. Love you
Love
Elder Hamp
